We’re trying to keep blog posts down to about 20 images. Jade and Sophie’s we struggled to keep under 60, but we did it! This session was unusually adorable. Their proposal happened in a coffee house so we did our best to re-create a beautiful and quaint scene. Zero problem thanks to Cafe Rosetta in Calumet, Michigan. Add coffee, two giggling girls and then just let them go. We shot inside and from the street, got coffee to go, and shadowed them as they walked to the Michigan House to warm up. We use the floor in there often for couples (because it’s amazing) and warmed by the fire. A quick jog down the road to historic, sandstone mining leftovers contrasted with the snow, and directed these two in some editorial style shoots. We wrapped up their session by pushing their front wheel drive car (really, girls?!) out of the snow and finished shooting by our favorite pair of locomotives on Quincy Mine’s property. Our clients become our friends, and this friendship happened immediately. Can’t wait to shoot their wedding in Milwaukee later this summer!
Shot with Nikon, 50 and 85mm. Natural light. Snow.
